Great live venue, with a decent sized stage and good sound setup.
As a student it's a good bar to relax between classes. Some decent discounts on food and drinks if you have the student union discount card.
I don't go for just regular drinks but always for Return to Rio Events and I am never disappointed. The sound quality is phenomenal and the way the stages are laid out works really well. Lighting and decorations on point. Toilets thankfully respected by most patrons. The only improvement would be to provide water on all sides instead of just one. And make sure they're all in working order. And water towards the exit so people can leave feeling hydrated and therefore have one less thing to worry about on their way home.And maybe hire staff that enjoy the genre. Not a fan of being served by nonchalant staff who all they ever listen to is heavy metal. Which is fine. But what the hell are you doing at a big name dj set, torturing yourself for 6+ hours? You're just ruining the mood.
Food is okay but the atmosphere is why you go here. Grab a few mates and a few jugs and enjoy the uni life!Student deals are on every day for a meal (fries here are lit) so get around that!
Saw Skid Row Saturday night. First time here. Great venue for this size with tiered levels and a great outdoor area on the balcony. Chairs and tables outside downstairs for smokers to finish a drink and have a cigarette too. A plastic cup of beer was $9. $12 for a Canadian Club and Dry can, so drinks are not cheap. But the venue itself is excellent.
