I unfortunately need to concur with the previous patient who had an experience similar to mine with Dr Carrie Hurelbrink. She lacks any bedside manner (she did the same thing with her copious if not comical use of the santitizer). She also delivered a seemingly devastating finding quite flippantly and offered no sympathy. I was shocked and very anxious when I left. I would recommend another neurologist if you have the opportunity.
Well, look at some of the reviews. Talk about bureaucracy. The young, very rude receptionist was hostile from the moment I rang to arrange an appt. It was as though Sydney Neurology were to do me some kind of favour by seeing me? It took them 5 days to realise my referral had been fully completed on official letterhead but only Dr's printed name not actual signature was appearing, and that was a big NO, NO? Not just what she said it's how she said it...harsh! This disrespectful, suspicious young woman on the 'phones said I'd need to get it signed (like some kind of forging was going)?Since I'm a Psychologist and therefore very switched on to people's behaviour, I would say this young woman alone is sabotaging elements of this practice. I also see from other reviews that there are probably some management issues at play and also some air of misguided 'entitlement' by some of the people within this organisation. And they are supposedly there to help people?Sydney Neurology - DO NO HARM.
my daughter had good treatment in this place. the doctors were very good and diagnosed her problem straightaway.
I went with my husband who has suspected Parkinson's Disease. Dr Carrie Hurelbrink is officious, totally lacking in any empathy or social skills and told us absolutely nothing at this very worrying time. I felt totally diminished as she could not bear to touch either of us even to shake hands, but she had to disinfect herself with antiseptic hand wash. Or was it a form of OCD? The hand-washing and total lack of empathy went on all through the appointment. We are both highly intelligent professionals both with PhDs and we were treated and dismissed like unintelligent imbeciles. After a massive fee we were none the wiser. I have a close professional colleague who waited 6 months for a diagnosis of Parkinson's from Carrie Hurelbrink. The waiting time for an appointment is crazy and the office staff highly disorganized. The constant handwashing made me feel ill and the off-hand lack of communication and lack of social skills was distressing. Don't put yourself through it.
I was really nervous of going here as some bad reviews so thought I would share my great experience. Dr Jane Prosser was really empathetic and helpful while also realistic and frank spending time understanding my migraine issues. I had an issue with my rebate as I hadn't updated my medicare address and I was able to call back later and the receptionist kindly helped me to do it so it came back faster than lodging myself. Will be back after I try my first lot of treatment.
